The Mysore crepe silk saree is Karnataka's quiet flagship — pure mulberry silk, plain weave, finished with the lightest possible touch. It is the soft silk saree at its most honest: no zari, no embellishment, just colour and drape. Ours are woven within 90km of our Bangalore studio, by KSIC-trained weavers, with silk from Ramanagara.
Mysore crepe is named for its weave — a tight twist in both warp and weft (around 3,000 twists per metre) that gives the cloth its characteristic matte sheen and self-falling drape. It is the closest a saree gets to weightless silk without becoming chiffon.
The traditional Mysore saree is plain in body — colour-blocked, sometimes with a thin gold-zari border — and depends entirely on the quality of the silk for its presence. There is nowhere to hide. Which is why we source ours from KSIC-grade looms and weavers who have spent twenty years on this one weave.
Pure Mysore crepe carries the Silk Mark India hologram. We will not sell a Mysore without one.

If you are buying your first pure silk saree, we will always start you here. Mysore crepe is forgiving — it drapes itself, it travels well, it works for a wedding reception and a temple visit equally. It does not announce itself, but it never disappears. The saree to own first, and to keep.
